DC Motor - Linear Actuators - w/ HES
| ||
| Best of BOTH WORLDS Our biggest problem was what to name this collision of technologies . . . as in the case of the 1100 series, should the new actuator be called an 1100HES (an 1100 upgraded with HES sensors) or should the new actuator be called a 2100DC (a 2100 downgraded by replacing the Stepper Motors with DC Motor). Either way we wind up in the middle, but for the sake or nomenclature, we will call this new series the 2100DC model actuator, as well as applying this same logic to the naming of the 2000DC, and 2200DC series. Again, using the 1100 Series as an example . . . because this model places a DC Motor into a 2100 housing, along with the HES sensors of a 2100 it is actually closer to a 2100 than to an 1100. The DC Motor allows for cooler motor operation and now utilizes HES sensor stops which are more accurate than the BEMF technology utilized in the 1100. The HES sensors also allows for a repeatable "HOME" position, which the 1100 does not provide. The overall effect is a smoother running, more precise actuator model better suited for projects needing a repeatable starting point, with better conditions from which to detect "end of limit" sensing. And because the 2100DC has an encoder, mid-stroke precision positioning is also available. A fine addition to the DMI family of Linear Actuators. |
